Canopy

Let's put the JOY in reading.

Canopy: A Bespoke Literacy & Home Mentorship

For the family who wants to find the

JOY

in reading and writing.

The Philosophy

When a child cannot access reading and writing, it is as if they have been dropped into a foreign land without speaking the language.

They feel disconnected.

They spend their school days in a constant state of fight-or-flight, trying to make themselves physically small just to avoid being called on. They are terrified that their classmates will find out they are struggling.

Over time, that exhaustion bleeds into everything. Many times, parents come to my partner Scott and me believing their child has a profound sensory integration issue. But underneath it all, that child is simply suffering from the severe, pervasive anxiety of trying to survive the school day.

And when a child is carrying that much anxiety, the temperature of the entire house rises.

The stress becomes the water your whole family is swimming in.

I want to change the temperature in your home.

I want to be your literacy fairy godmother.

I believe that learning to read does not require rigid drills, expensive equipment, or more hours at a desk.

Literacy can be gentle and joyful.

It can be woven seamlessly through your family’s day, feeling as natural as breathing.

Canopy is an 8-week mentorship designed to heal your child’s relationship with reading, lower the anxiety in your home, and bring joy to learning.

From Survival Mode to Cozy Cuddles

When we remove the pressure and meet your child with the exact level of challenge they need to feel successful, the shift happens almost immediately.

Here is what  life looks like on the other side of our 8 weeks together:

From Hiding to Hunting for Words: Instead of shrinking away from letters, your child starts noticing the world of words all around them—reading  road signs from the backseat, scanning menus at restaurants.
