How online tutoring works

1. After a consultation call or zoom meeting with parents I'll meet with your child for an initial assessment  to determine their strengths and weaknesses.  ​

 

2. Based on the assessment, I create  a customized plan with lessons and activities for your child that are tailored to their specific needs and learning style. I use a variety of tools and technologies to make the lessons multisensory,  fun and interactive.​​

 

3. Throughout each tutoring session I am constantly assessing and recording  data. Because we are working 1:1, I am able to quickly change the direction of my lesson to address an area of need that may have just been uncovered.​

4. If you are choosing to work with me it means that you are committed to doing whatever it takes to help your child become a better reader.  You and I will be working as a team.  I will send reading or activities that are to be done at home that support the work that your child and I are doing together.  I will occasionally send links to instructional videos to show you exactly how to do the work at home.  Don't worry - I'm only asking that you spend on average about 10- 15 minutes everyday on these activities.
